Whats in my makeup bag

What's in my make up bag I've had this post planned for a while, but was a bit nervous as I am not a makeup person. I wear makeup everyway, and enjoy putting it on and playing with it. But I am not passionate about it. I don't have the best makeup, or the best brushes, or even the best technique. But I am happy with how it looks, and I do enjoy it.

This was how it looked when I first emptied it.

First, I will start with my face.

FaceI use No7 Stay Perfect foundation in Cool Vanilla. I have to say, this is the best foundation for my skin that I have ever tried. It matches perfectly, thanks to the No7 skin match test and it doesn't leave me with that orange glow that many of my mid-teen foundations did. Also, I am fairly oily around my nose but my forehead is extremely dry, but this seems to give me even coverage that I don't have to worry about too much during the day.

For everyday, my MAC blush is my go to. It is subtly rosy, and gives my skin a healthy glow, which I love. But for a night out I use my Lancome blush set, which I got as part of a set for Christmas. It adds a little sparkle, which I like.

Finally, bronzer. I was told to add bronzer to my routine as I have quite pale skin, and sometimes I can look as though I am ill. So for everyday I use No7 as it gives me a slight sunkissed glow. But on a night out I will use whatever I can scrounge out of my Lancome palette.

eyesOnce the base is done, I tend to start on the eyes. Like I said before, I keep it pretty simple with my makeup. Mostly because I am always last minute, therefore always in a rush. Ooops. But I always make sure my eyes are made up in some way.

For everyday, I normally brush some eyebrow powder over my brows just to give them a little definition. (Sorry I don't know what this palette is called or where I got it from). Then I attempt a thin line of Maybelline black eyeliner on my top lids finished off with a few coats of Soap and Glory mascara.

I got the Naked palette for Christmas and I am so impressed with it. I am wearing more gold lately when going out, so I tend to do a build up of light creamy colours on the inside of my eye followed by darker browns and golds on the outer side of my lid. When I use eyeshadow, I top it off with a thicker than usual black eyeline using a gel liner and brush. I just think this giver a more dramatic look.

lipsI very rarely wear anything on my lips. I am not confident enough really. However, I do occassionally wear a darkish red lipstick when I'm trying to gain a timeless look. When I do this I use this MAC liner, as I find the lipstick bleeds a fair bit and I'm super clumsy and end up with it everywhere.

This Soap and Glory gloss is becoming a staple in my make up bag. It's a natural pinky colour, adding shine without adding too much colour. So, I find it easy to wear. Also, it's not too sticky or slimy which is a massive win. I use it with a No7 liner in a similar pinky shade.

Other bitsFinally, I thought I would do a little bit about the randoms that lurk at the bottom of my Ted Baker makeup bag. Does anyone else have this problem? I found loads of rubbish at the bottom of mine.

Firstly, brushes. For obvious reasons. Then, this Lancome miniture which I always forget exists apart from every now and again when I will apply it. It has a really lovely smell, but it is probably a bit too grown up for me. Finally, I had some random sized hair grips, a dirty necklace (which I really like), some tweezers, two used eyelash glues and a lighter. I have no idea where the lighter is from, but it's probably not safe in there.
