I keep being told that summer is on its way out, and to enjoy any bit that I manage to catch. So on Saturday when I saw the sun shining, I dragged Matthew (and the camera) out for a walk. Firstly, I wanted to snap some new outfit shots of some things I have picked up recently, but also, we live in a really beautiful place and I feel like we don't appreciate it enough.
I spotted this top in the Topshop sale a few weeks back, and it was priced at £12. I loved the colour but wasn't completely sold on the style. I am all over the whole cold shoulder/bardot style that is everywhere at the moment, mainly because I find it really flattering on my arms where some of my insecurities are. However, the thing that put me off this was the fact that the material that hangs on your arms was really thin. It is just the frill and I wasn't sure how flattering that would be.
Anyway, to cut this long story short, I loved the material and colour too much and just picked it up. I actually think that the cut of the top is really pretty and sits nice on my figure. It is really perfect for summer, so I can see myself getting loads of wear out of it.
Also, just on a side note. The bottom part of the top is really floaty and the material is super light weight therefore it hides any little bits of bloaty-ness or food babies you may have going on.
I paired it with some high waisted double ripped jeans, and some simple black sandals. My sunglasses aren't anything special, I find sunglasses really tricky. I haven't found my perfect style, so I pick up cheap pairs just to play around with them. They do the job and I think they look okay. They definitely just tie an outfit together, which I love about sunglasses. Finally my watch is an old Olivia Burton, but there are similar styles here.
Overall, I can see it becoming my go to look for a comfortable and easy weekend outfit.
Whats your summer go to outfit right now?
