Some of you might have seen my H&M foundation review last week, and well I can't say that is the only beauty item I have purchased recently. Over the last year or so my money seems to have changed direction. Instead of trying on clothes and wasting money on shoes, I am not a massive beauty shopper. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the weight gain or recent lack of confidence... *rolls eyes*.
But there is something about buying make up that makes my heart feel happy. I like comparing products and seeing how different make up can make you look. I like using one product in numerous different ways to create many different looks. I enjoy blending different eye shadows and mixing different lipsticks. I am just more fascinated by it now.
Anyway, what is with my long intros at the moment?
On to the haul.
Firstly, I picked up the No.7 Instant Radiance Foundation. It is described as 'radiance boosting for tired, stressed skin'. If you have been reading this blog for a while, you will know I am in love with the No 7 Beautifully Matte foundation. I was colour matched a few years ago, so I always know what shade I am going to be which makes it easy for me to try their different foundations. The main reason I picked this up was because I wanted a foundation that was more glowy and gave me a more healthy look. However, I can report it is no where near as radiant as I thought I would be. It is still extremely full coverage, but I can't really see how it is meant to be radiant, it just gives a semi-matte finish. It's a nice foundation, but I probably wouldn't buy it again and I especially wouldn't buy it if I wanted to brighten tired skin.
Then I picked up two concealers.
The first one was a real YouTube influenced purchase. Every beauty YouTuber that I watch or have watched goes on and on about how amazing the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer is, so I picked it up in the shade fair. I have used it quite a lot, and I can see what everyone is on about. It is very brightening and it does make me look 'more alive', however I think it is a little bit too thick for my skin because I find that it can crease around my eyes and it makes my eye's feel really heavy. Then I repurchased the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. I have used this before and really liked it, so I thought I would buy it again. It isn't quite as luminising as the Collection concealer, but I much prefer the folmula. It is more light and creamy and I think it looks a lot more natural on my face. Plus, I feel like I can use it everywhere I need more coverage not just under my eyes.
I have a little bit of a problem with mascara. I literally think I could use a new mascara every day. Yep. Problems.
So I picked up two. Because, I thought that was reasonable.
Firstly, I picked up the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama - now is that the longest mascara name or what? This has a really funny wand, it looks almost like there is nothing there. I really like this mascara, I think it does make my eyelashes look really full and thick. Not quite like falsies, but come on, what mascara actually does that? The only problem is it doesn't give my lashes much length, which is a shame because I have quite long eye lashes. So I do find myself using another mascara as well as this one, to get the long fluttery look that I like. Then I picked up one of the new Revlon mascara. To be honest, I wanted to get one of these because I really like the packaging. I know that is really sad, but I love how the mascara looks. I think it looks quite retro and unique but really sophisticated.
I opened this and was confused because it was a big of an off colour. Turns out that I picked up brown. Good one, Harrie.
But I have been using it anyway, and I quite like it. I don't know if it is because I need my eyes testing or what, but to me it looks black on my lashes. Anyone care to explain why? I don't know. But I am really loving this mascara. I can see me repurchasing in the right shade soon. It takes a little bit of time to really work with it, and build up your lashes but then I think it makes your lashes look so nice. Really long and voluminous, it gives a fluttery strong look which I love. My favourite purchase out of the bunch!
Finally, I purchased a Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner again. Because it is my favourite and my other one had dried up. Yep.
