I bet you are all bored of me talking about Chester, but I promise this is the last time I mention it. And it is quite a good note to end on because it is a massive haul post showing you all the bits and bats that I picked up whilst I was away. And of course, there is lots of make up.
The worst part about this kind of weekend is that there are a lot of enablers, everyone you are with are shopping too and it means that you get sucked into this world of just spending money freely, as if you are Beyonce or something. Unfortunately, I am not Beyonce and I definitely do not have her bank account either.
But the damage is now done, so I may as well show you all the bits I got.
Also, as this post is a little while since Chester, I have had time to try most of the things so I can give ya'll a little review too. Bonus.
The first place we headed really was boots. Like I have mentioned so many times before, boots is like the mother ship as far as I am concerned. I could spend hours roaming round looking at all the different counters. And this was a good boots, you know the kind that seem to have everything, so I was pretty happy.
The Base Lets start with base, I picked up the Revlon Colour Stay foundation, because I know that it is a blogger favourite and it is one I have never tried. I have been really enjoying Revlon products lately, so I thought this would be worth trying. I have only tried it once or twice so far, but I do like it. Good coverage, really bendable and natural. Can't complain.. To go with it I also got the matching concealer which again is really nice. However, it is a bit poor at covering my dark circles. I tend to just use it on any redness around my face and for that it does a good job. Moving on to higher end, I was persuaded into getting Estee Lauder Double Wear. Yes, I know, I know. It is expensive. But it is something I have been lusting over for a long time and I got colour matched so I just thought, I may as well do it now if I am ever going to do it. Obviously, this is a massive cult classic for foundation and is probably the highest coverage foundation on the market. I have been using it this week, and I have to say so far, I am not impressed. I find that it just seems to sit on my skin, especially in my pores. It doesn't blend very easily and I feel like my skin gets greasy though the day when I wear it - like my skin can't breathe. Maybe I am not using it right, so any suggestions are welcome here!
Now lets talk eyes.
I am a big lover of the liquid liner, and I feel like I am even starting to master a flick. Yes, I have made it in the world now. However, I have quite oily eyelids and I have this obsession with eye liner having to be super black. So I am always on the hunt for new liquid liner, and on this occasion I decided to give L'Oreal Super Liner a go. And it is okay and lasts a long time, but it isn't quite pigmented enough for me. You can build it up to a dark black line, but.. effort. To go with it, I also got another blogger influenced mascara. L'Oreal Telescopic mascara is always being talked about, and I am always game for a new mascara. It claims to be an extra black extreme lengthening mascara, and I would say that is pretty accurate. It is definitely black and definitely lengthening!
Finally, I couldn't leave without a lipstick could I?
On the Estee Lauder counter they were doing a promotion where if you purchased two items, one of them being foundation, then you got a gift with purchase. So I got a Pure Colour Envy lipstick in the colour Intense Nude. This is by far my favourite item I purchased, it is beautiful. Its like a slightly bold everyday nude pink colour, and I have been wearing it every day. I love the texture, it isn't the longest lasting but it feels so smooth and nourishing that I really don't mind.
Onto the freebies. So you got everything in this beautiful, vintage inspired make up bag. Which to begin with is lovely! Included was a full sized DayWear moisturiser, little black mascara primer, a mini coral lipstick, a sample cleanser, a smoothing and glow boosting liquid care and finally, my favourite, a sample size of the Modern Muse perfume.
I have fallen head over heels for this perfume, and each time I spray it, I get so may compliments. I am desperate for the full size, but why is it so expensive?!
If you haven't smelt it, then I suggest you do. Right now.
Anyway, that is everything from my make up haul, sorry that this post has turned into the worlds longest blog post! I hope you have enjoyed it anyway, and let me know if you have any recommendations for me.
